Festival season <3 How to make it eco-friendly

This week it’s Øya festival in Oslo which is one of the best festivals all summer. What is also really cool is that they aim to be the most eco-friendly festival in the world! It’s a pretty high aim, which is good and they are doing a lot of cool stuff already.

Day 1

Among the things they do this year:

  • Over half of the food courts are plant based

  • 95 % of all the food is organic

  • They have reusable cups instead of single use plastic cups

  • In 2018 they recycled 68 % of all the waste to new products or energy

  • They encourage the audience to walk or use public transportation to the festival area. No parking spots

  • They also try to reduce food waste by working with different organizations that can handle or use the left over food.
