• Excited to be back at the EAT Foundation

This time of year for five years ago, the very first EAT Forum was held in Stockholm by a relatively fresh and ambitious organization. The idea was to gather key persons to discuss a sustainable food production and health over a breakfast meeting. It didn’t take long until EAT grew large and would be recognized as a pillar of the discussion and research about sustainable food. Now, EAT gathers key stakeholders within business, politics and civil society in Stockholm year after year. This is where big plans grow, and we are so lucky to be able to spend time within EATs four walls over the next month. What is EAT?…

  • Life Cykel – the Aussie startup saving the world with mushrooms

Ryan and Julian from Life Cykel are two Australian guys passionate about the possibility of using mushrooms to save the world. They discovered the enormous potential of providing a healing, plant-based and sustainable protein through mushrooms, and have built such a cool closed-loop business, where they collect coffee grounds from cafés and restaurants, grow mushrooms on them, and then return the edible end product. We were curious to hear more about the uses of mushrooms for healing, how mushrooms are important for the future of our planet, and how these guys came up with the fantastic idea! Can you tell us a bit about yourselves? – I’m Julian, and I…

  • What Would Nature Do? Flow into Spring with Inspiration from the Ayurvedic Medicine System

You did it! You survived winter, some powerful full moons, the equinox and the intense solar storms. Now that we are out on the other side of hibernation-mode, we can begin turning our faces towards the sun and give our bodies some much-needed spring nurturing. Since I discovered the Eastern medicine system of Ayurveda and started applying the practices in my daily life, it has become a transformative force for my own well-being and energy, and well as how I engage in the sustainable development of the world around me. Maybe it can also inspire you! Extending the goal of health to embrace the health of our environment A lot…

  • Q & A from our plastic-free month

A whole month of plastic-free living (as we tried in February) gave us a real eyeopener on how much plastic we use, and especially how many unconscious decisions we usually make. It is definitely challenging to figure out which uses of plastic are necessary, and which that aren’t. Luckily, this is a matter that engages many people, and we were so inspired by all of your efforts and advice. It sure feels like a change is coming. As we have received lots of questions throughout the challenge, we thought we would summarize them in this post. Feel free to leave more questions or feedback in the comments!  1. What kind…

  • 9 advice for a spring cleaning of body and soul

Tuesday the 20th March marked spring equinox, meaning that the day was exactly as long as the night and that more sunlight is reaching the northern hemisphere. Have you heard of manifestation? This time of year is the perfect time to manifest changes to your life and goals you wish to reach. It’s time for a spring cleaning.  In the yoga “language” they say that it’s the perfect time to set a “Sankalpa” – an intention for the time coming up. It is a short sentence that describes how you want to feel – for example, “I am strong”, “I am happy”, “I am peaceful”. It is not a wish,…

  • Where we will spend easter

Easter is approaching and we are so excited to be heading back to our second home, Portugal. You might wonder why we spend a lot of time there, and that is because our grandmother is Portuguese. Ever since we were born we spent every summer in Portugal and we have a huge family there. This is also where we are able to surf and enjoy more time in the ocean than we do in Oslo. We usually do a lot of beach cleanings in Portugal. Last year we picked up trash at a beach in Peniche together with some cool local girls, and it was heartbreaking how much trash filled…
